Overview

Summary/objective

The Sr Networking Engineer is responsible for maintaining a reliable, secure, and efficient network, systems and data communications network. The position will be able to deploy, configure, maintain, and monitor all active network equipment, software, on prem data center network configurations, Cloud network configurations and more in order to ensure smooth network operation in our Data Centers and Hybrid-Cloud infrastructure. In addition, this position also will mentor and grow skills of the Network team.

  • Facilitate rapid growth of both cloud and on prem solutions through exceptional project, team, and priority management.
  • Fully architect, support, configure, maintain, and upgrade corporate networks, in house servers, routers, switches, and Cloud networking in AWS and Azure
  • Support local and remote production Datacenter centers.

  • Identify network and PC security improvements.
  • Monitor network performance (availability, utilization, throughput, and latency) and test for weaknesses.
  • Resolve problems reported by internal and external users related to connectivity.
  • Define network policies and procedures.
  • Architect system requirements and design solutions
  • Proven ability to mentor other networking team members.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 7 years proven experience in a network administrator role
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in cloud network architecture.
  • Hands on experience in datacenter networking, routing, switching and application software.
  • Excellent knowledge of best practices around management, control, and monitoring of network infrastructure
  • Palo Alto Certification a must
  • Meraki, Cisco, CWNA and/or CCNP or equivalent Certification
  • Proven experience designing, planning, and deploying to on prem and cloud networks.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Sentinel, DLP, and other networking security solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, activities, and tasks simultaneously.
  • Facilitation and change management skills.
  • Ability to participate in on-call rotation.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10+ years’ experience with enterprise network management
  • 7+ years’ experience with Datacenter networking
  • 7+ year of experience with cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, and Hybrid cloud.
  • Certifications in CCNA, CCNP, PCNSE
  • Azure and/or AWS networking certification.
  • Great at organizing, prioritizing, and multitasking.
  • Highly developed verbal and written communications.
  • Enjoy mentoring team members.

Supervisory responsibilities

This role has no supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers.

 

Physical demands

Physical requirements include occasional lifting/carrying of 50 pounds; visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual operate a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Subject to sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to perform the essential functions. Working conditions are primarily inside an office environment.

 

Travel required

This position may require local and international travel.
